von Willebrand disease I – Genetic tests

von Willebrandův syndrom

Code: VWDI
Von Willebrand disease I (VWDI) is an inherited bleeding disorder in dogs and other mammals.

Affected dogs often suffer from bruising and may bleed from the nose or mouth, for example when losing milk teeth or after surgery or trauma. Less often, bleeding can be so severe that it can lead to the death.

Because of the variability of the disease, affected dogs may not have obvious problems unless there is surgery or trauma that results in excessive bleeding.
