The E locus determines whether the dog will have yellow pigment only, or whether it can also have one of the other coat colours (brown, black).
If your dog has two copies of the recessive allele (e/e), it will have a yellow coat. If your dog has a genotype other than the recessive e/e, then the other colour loci will determine coat colour (e.g. the B locus).

Dalmatian
Dalmatians are medium-sized dogs with a unique and charming appearance. Their coat is smooth and white with black or brown patches scattered over the body. In every way, Dalmatians are the epitome of energetic and elegant companions. Dalmatians are reserved and dignified and can be aloof around strangers, making them good watchdogs. These dogs love plenty of exercise and active play, making them excellent companions for jogging or long walks. Their energy may make them too demanding for owners seeking a calmer dog breed.
