Lionhound
The Lionhound is a young breed with roots in the Rhodesian Ridgeback. Where the Ridgeback requires the signature dorsal ridge—and excludes ridgeless dogs from breeding—the Lionhound shifts the emphasis to the whole dog rather than a crest of hair. In this breed, the ridge-causing mutation is neither valued nor maintained; over time it is to be bred out of the population. Lionhounds are intelligent, active, and strong-minded—dogs with real charisma. They are friendly and loyal to their families without being pushy. Elegant and agile, they make sporty companions who relish both physical activity and a close, cooperative bond with their people.
