The tested variant causes brown coat colour in many breeds, in Rhodesian Ridgebacks it causes brown nose ("livernose"), mucous membranes and claws.
Inheritance is autosomal recessive (black colour is dominant).

Lionhound
The Lionhound is a young breed with roots in the Rhodesian Ridgeback. Where the Ridgeback requires the signature dorsal ridge—and excludes ridgeless dogs from breeding—the Lionhound shifts the emphasis to the whole dog rather than a crest of hair.
